The Shepherd Gathereth His Sheep

These are our most current and most faithful investigators.  They have come to Church over 6 weeks.  They live at the Palm Oil Plant.

We drove for one hour into the jungle over the roughest roads I have ever been on to see them.  We sat on a cement floor for an hour as they were taught by the elders.  (Dad and I don't have the same ability as they do to "fold" our legs under us!)

No matter how humble, people are always hospitable and they offered us drink.  It is very rare to go into anyone's home and not be offered something to drink.

Lena wears the pair of pants that you see hanging on the wall each Sunday to church.

Their two little boys.  The young girl by them is so nice.  She sat by me and helped teach me Malaysian words at the Relief Society Party.  She would like very much to begin piano lessons.  She is 12.

Bondi, Lena, and family.  They are "provided" with housing (two cement rooms) and after are able to take home the equivalent of $10 a day.  And, no, the cost of living is not that cheap!  To supplement, they pick mushrooms in the forest and sell them in town when they can get in.

The children ride in over that unbelievable road open to the bed of a big commercial truck to get to school each day.

1 Nephi 22:25 "And He gathereth His children from the four quarters of the earth and He numbereth His sheep, and they know Him; and there shall be one fold and one Shepherd; and He shall feed His sheep and in Him they shall find pasture."

This scripture has great meaning to me.
