Scenes From Bintulu

Fisherman on the South China Sea.  Isn't this a fantastic silhouette?  My favorite picture.

This lovely school is on the hill above our church.  It is in great contrast to the surroundings below it.  One day we were there as the children began to descend the hill.  A memorable sight!
These pots are in the strip between the roads.  They are made in this area.
Long sections of the roadways are very beautiful!  I ooh! and aah! every time I drive down them.  They are the most beautiful I have seen anywhere!  Groomed and landscaped.

One of the stunning flowering trees (bougainvillea) on the roadways.  They are in intense colors.

Would you believe this???  Our "neighbors," literally just 2 blocks away!
A reminder:  the ever present Kampong.
This old couple gather greens and bring them to sell to eating places around the Church.  Both the basket and the hat are made by hand.
A familiar figure at both the kampong and the Church!
